The main focus of the ICCL's research is on both horizontal comparative law between different legal systems and vertical comparative law between superordinate criminal law-related stipulations of European and International criminal law and national legal systems. The core of the Institute is its long-standing library with its comprehensive collection of literature on German, foreign and international law.
